Yesterday I walked out of the Expendables thinking a few things, but one thought stood out amongst the rest: Bruce Willis needed to be in this movie more. Don't get me wrong, the cast was entertaining and there was a ton of action (to say the least), but I felt shortchanged by the amount of Bruce Willis in the film. After going home and looking up his catalogue I was surprised to see how many movies there were in which he starred that I love.
This article will discuss my top five favorite Bruce Willis films from the past two decades.
While many people do not care for M. Night Shyamalan movies, there are a few that are worth seeing. Above all else, the man's two best directed films both star Bruce Willis, the better of the two being The Sixth Sense. This movie set the standard for the modern twist in Hollywood cinema.
If you are a fan of science fiction movies, then one film that you must see is Twelve Monkeys. Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt star in this futuristic post apocalyptic thriller, and as always, Bruce Willis delivers big time in this one.
One film that this great actor has starred in that I secretly love, but will never let my guy friends know it, is Armageddon. Sure, its sappy, but the last scene in this movie will get anyone emotional, that's all I will say.
One film that certainly needs to be mentioned on any article discusses Bruce Willis' finest work is a Die Hard film. Everyone has their own favorite and for me, it never got better than the original. That is not to say that I did not like the others; it is probably my second favorite action franchise (right behind The Terminator) but for me the original set the precedent for the rest.
One other movie that I certainly makes my top five Bruce movies may come as a surprise, but it is none other than the original Look Who's Talking. Sure, he simply plays the voice of Mikey, America's most loveable child from the late 1980s, but I have nothing but good memories from this movie.
These are just some of my favorite films from the prolific Bruce Willis, and I am sure there are many others which I may have forgotten.
